I sucked at the perfect dodge/shield (only got 3 T_T) but throwing down the electric attack to stun those weak to it, then grapple to non-affected enemies and breaking into combos and juggling in the air to smash down. The first chapter is a lot of fun to explore thoroughly, and given the limitation of it being designed with no Einherjar puzzle solving I can imagine future levels will really bring to life the idea of playing a 3d Valkyrie Profile game. I'm not sensitive to framerates unless it's particularly bad, like I played Elden Ring PS5 no problemo, and haven't even noticed an issue. The art direction is pleasing to look at and the environments are nicely detailed for a low budget game.Įdit: I'll add that the English voice acting is better than the Japanese from what I've heard so far. There's also a few environmental puzzles that make use of the grapple and Einherjar. The grapple is a nice addition for closing distance. Its not super in depth like DMC/Bayonetta but has a very nice interplay between the elements and einherjar. I have the demo on hard and nothing even got me down to 80% HP. PS4 version is of course running lower res with weaker particle effects, AA ghosting, lower quality shadows, etc. The Valkyrie/Player model is poorly lit most of the time. Both PS5 and PS4 have very noticeable foliage pop-in. PS5 is running what feels like sub 50fps even indoors. Ok so put close to an hour into each version.
